Saw this in the freezer section a few weeks ago and thought I would try it out. I also got a Fish & Chips one. It is definitely different then some of the other meals they have, and this one looked like I would actually like it. I will say I was a bit skeptic about how the fries would turn out since this is a microwaved meal. It looked good when I microwaved it, so that is a good start!

Chicken Tenders & Fries Smartones

Surprisingly the fries don’t taste too bad, but they aren’t crispy. It says the fries are seasoned with ranch, but they don’t really taste like anything. The look of the seasoning on them reminds me of Cool Ranch Doritos, unfortunately, they are not! The chicken tastes a bit like the freezer, but that could also be because it has been in my freezer for a few weeks. There wasn’t any freezer burn though, so it may not be my fault this time! It was still good and only a few bites tasted like that.

I decided to not eat these fries for dinner and I made a different batch of fries. Red Robin sells their fries in the freezer section, but unfortunately they come with the Red Robin seasoning, and I am not a huge fan of it. They are pretty good fries though, and for not having a Red Robin anywhere close to me, this is the best I can do. Don’t worry, we are getting a Red Robin near my work very soon! I also decided that since I am not actually on a diet I would put my chicken on a sub roll with some honey mustard.

I would buy this again, but only if it is on sale. It is a good sized meal especially for a lunch at work, and it doesn’t taste bad. It is that comfort meal you may need during your stressful day. It is also cheaper then going out to buy your own chicken tenders and fries. I recommend you give it a try, especially if you are actually on Weight Watchers. (No Weight Watchers didn’t ask me to say that. If they did ask though, I would accept the offer, just saying)


Hello! This might surprise some of you that I would ever cook fish on my own. Well, I need some more food options in my life and figured fish was easy. Tonight’s dinner definitely proved that it was a good choice! I love teriyaki sauce and figured why not try it on fish. I have never made fish so I didn’t know what to expect, but I would say this was a success.

I put my Tilapia in a zip lock bag and poured in some teriyaki sauce and let the fish soak in it for a few minutes. Depending on how much of the teriyaki taste you want, you can leave in longer to marinate. I have zero patience so it was in the bag for about 5 minutes. I took it out and put it into a baking dish. I had some cut up pineapple left so I added some pineapple chunks to the baking dish as well. I cooked it for about 20 minutes on 350. As a side dish I made white rice with peas and carrots. I also put some teriyaki in the rice to keep the flavors consistent. Below is my masterpiece! No recipe to follow, just all on my own. I would say I did good!


Well some success had to come with some failure. I tried making dairy free ice cream for dessert using a frozen banana, cocoa powder, some almond milk, and peanut butter. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I think my failure was in the amount of cocoa powder I used. Unfortunately, this got thrown down the drain because I could only get a taste before spitting it out. Sorry for the gross details, but just keeping it real.

Eat the fish, not the ice cream.


Quick Weekday Meal

The work week is hectic and if you are anything like me, the last thing you want to do when you get home is cook. Well, I have just the meal for you! It will take you less than 10 minutes to make it, and everyone in your household will love it! It is definitely one of those, I don’t feel like cooking, but my family needs to eat kind of meals. Pair it with some Mac and Cheese and dinner is ready!

In my family this is called Cheese Dreams. I don’t know why it is called that, but that is what mom called it when I was younger so that is what it is called! I used bread from Jimmy Johns, but you can use any type of bun. All you do is slap on a piece of cheese to each piece of the bun and put on as much bacon as you desire. Then, put it in the oven (I put it on broil) until the cheese is melted and bacon is cooked. Finally, EAT! This is almost as easy as making cereal for dinner. Give it a try, I think you will love it because who doesn’t love cheese and bacon!!


I am still working on that timing in the kitchen thing, so mine got a little burnt while I was mixing up the Mac and Cheese. Even a little burnt it was still delicious. Just a little tip from my experience tonight: make sure you keep an eye on it while it is in the oven, because it melts very quickly!
