You can’t go wrong with chocolate cake, especially in my family. This one is from scratch, but I’m not sure why it is crazy. I think it may be because you literally make the cake in the same pan you cook it in. Thanks Tiphero.com for this one! Recipe below!
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup water
1. Add all the dry ingredients directly to the pan and mix.
2. Make 3 depressions – 2 small and 1 large – in the mixed dry ingredients. Pour the vinegar in one of the small depressions, the vanilla in the other small depression, and the vegetable oil in the large depression. Pour water over all, and mix with a fork until smooth.
3. Bake on 350 for 35 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
4. Allow to cool. Top with your favorite frosting.
It’s delicious and it’s from scratch. It didn’t take very long to make and super easy. It could get messy when you are trying to mix everything in the cake pan, but overall a very easy recipe.
